Too often, people find themselves wearing dubious badges of workplace courage—by the way, the idea of “work harder, not smarter” is a myth and a dangerous one at that. But it’s not limited to the workplace. It seems as if society in general loves to cram more and more into monthly, weekly, and even daily schedules. And for what? To see one more person, to complete one extra task, or to participate in one more event? That’s fine, to each their own, but heed the warning of my haiku: every action has a repercussion; every mental purchase has a price. Health, dear readers, is cheap to maintain but can be hard to regain if lost.
