ON GREETING THE SUNRISE

Throughout history, humans nurtured intelligence because we knew how we wanted to greet the sunrise and where we wanted to be during the sunset. Humanity learned how to craft a modern society from nothing more than drawings and dreams, and despite adversity forcing us to retrace our steps at times, we ultimately succeeded in shaping civilization into what it is today. And so it will be tomorrow.

AN ESPRESSO SHOT OF POETIC PROPORTIONS / My work is crafted by redacting words in newspaper or magazine articles and includes a custom drawing in white ink that illustrates the haiku’s meaning through elegant simplicity. My blackout haiku can serve as a custom illustration in a publication or at an event (commissioned work) or non-commissioned pieces can be purchased to refresh a tired wall or shelf (learn more or purchase a print).
